She was pretty excited about the candle in the doughnut that Daddy was going to blow out!
He then took the older kids to Home Depot for the Kids Workshop where they build Firestation Banks. They are pretty cool with 3 sections: one for saving, one for spending and one for sharing. These have come at a perfect time as we'd just recently had a discussion that we needed to work with the kiddos on how to save and tithe money.
I took the younger two to a soccer game. It was a bit fridgid sitting out in the chilly air, but thankfully, I had some extra hands to help hold little ones along with extra blankets that I keep in the van.
We headed out to a favorite hotspot for dinner -- Moe's. We love how they say, "Welcome to Moe's!" when you walk in the door. We also can get pretty good deals there. I think we were able to feed our family for under $15 along with enough leftovers for another meal.
As we get older, we find that birthday's are not near as exciting as they used to be, but we do want to celebrate David for the great man that he is, the wonderful Daddy who loves his family and for another year that we've created lots of great memories together!
We celebrated with the whole family and had a shared party as our nephew's birthday is just a week after David's. We enjoyed a taco bar (seriously, we love Mexican food!) and an ice cream sundae bar and cheesecake for dessert!
David's favorite gift he received was a nerf/paintball gun from his grandfather. Unfortunately, Papa was unable to join us for the festivities due to him currently being in rehab at a nursing home. I think our kiddos may have enjoyed the gun more than their Daddy!
Matthew has also discoved that he is pretty quick at scaling up the stairs! I've tried to limit his exposure to stairs as I knew he'd be the adventuresome type without fear when it came to stairs. He normally gets so excited and is laughing that he can't stay on the stairs! It's still so foreign to see one of our kids being so young and being so mobile! They definitely keep us on our toes!
