Bread Bears

It's been a long week. Caroline came down with a fever last Saturday afternoon. That meant no church on Sunday. Sunday she still wasn't feeling good, not bad enough for immediate care, but not good enough for school on Monday. I had to get past my 'Carol moment', realize that they do not give scholarships for perfect attendance and be okay with Caroline being absent for the first time this year! Monday, she was doing well, until dinner when her fever came back. We decided to take her to the dr. on Tuesday morning. This also meant no BSF for the younger 3 kiddos -- and it was the first time that Matthew would have been able to go with us since they started the under 2 program. The trip to the dr. was uneventful. No strep. Just a virus. But since she'd had a fever on Tuesday, that meant no school on Wednesday. I went to the PTA meeting on Tuesday evening and was able to pick up her homework. Wednesday she started out doing well....until mid-morning and the fever was back....AGAIN!! No school on Thursday! Thursday morning, she woke up and had no voice! This was a shock for all of us as she is a talker!! No fever all day Thursday, but we decided why send her back to school if she can't talk?!? So, a full week of no school for her!! Her bus driver called today to check on her...how sweet is that!?!? Even in a huge school system, I was thankful for that personal call to make me feel like it's just a small town environment.

All that to say, Caroline got a new cook book for Christmas and here was something she picked out for us to make this afternoon. We made a bear for each member of our family.
