So, for those of you who know me....you realize that these last couple of weeks have been filled with lots! It's not like me to go for several weeks without updates on our life.
Not only did we have the holidays, which were rather exciting this year for our family, but also dealing with the death of my dad on Christmas Eve. It was not an unexpected event in that he'd been suffering the end stages of Parkinson's disease for the last several months. It was unexpected in the timing of it with 4 small children. We ended up leaving our children in Indiana with my incredible in-laws who generously cared for them! We are so grateful for having them near to help us. The time with my family was busy and it was good for me to be able to be the sister and daughter for a few days and not the mom for a few days.
These last couple of weeks have been catch-up and getting back into our routine...along with dealing with more sickness! This has been a doozy of a cold/flu/bronchitis/ear infection season for us!! I think we are finally on the upswing with everyone nearly healthy again!!
As I've been reflecting on several things lately, I've got several posts started in my head....they will come in time. I apologize for the lack of updates on our life....it's still very good and busy!!
God is faithful beyond what our finite minds can comprehend. As I sat in church yesterday, I was challenged and encouraged by this passage from Ephesians 5:10 'Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.' We cannot do life on our own. Only through our dependence on God's power, His plan and His perfect timing can we find a peace that passes all understanding. I am eternally grateful for my dad and for being able to pray with him when I was 4 years old on the steps of our barn to begin a relationship with Christ. Sure there have been bumps along the way where I've made mistakes, but through the blood of Christ, I am forgiven. My greatest desire is to know God more and to share Him with my family and friends. Do you know Him in a real and personal way?? If not, I'd love to chat with you....
Until I get a few moments to post again....
