It seems like every January, we seem to get a major winter storm that rolls through and dumps a significant amount of snow on us. This year is no different. So far, we've got 4-5 inches and we're possibly going to double that by tomorrow. Of course, kids love it. We got home from BSF today and the older kids couldn't get bundled up quick enough to head out to the backyard for some snow fun. Thankfully, Caroline didn't have school this afternoon.
We've found that snowpants and a slide make for lots of fun! The kids were whizzing down the slide and several feet along the ground before they would stop.
The kids came back in for hot chocolate, cookies and a defrost after being out for nearly an hour! They got re-bundled after Daddy got home from work. Elizabeth got up from her nap and was pretty taken with her first taste of snow. She cried when it was time to come in.
Jonathan loved running around in the snow and was even found laying face down at one point just eating snow! Meanwhile, while the big kids were outside in the snow, Matthew was snug in the swing taking a snooze.
We'll see what happens overnight...David is predicting no school tomorrow. Regardless, we'll probably be out playing in the snow in the morning...perhaps even get a snowman if the snow is right!
