We took a trip to a nearby town to get a chance to see the Disney Train that is promoting the upcoming movie 'A Christmas Carol' due out in November. This little town has a population of about 2,000. On the day the train was there, I think the population grew 5 times over! Seriously, where did these people come from??
We'd heard the wait to actually walk through the train was 2 hours before we'd even left to get there...by the time we'd arrived, it was up to a 4 hour wait. There was no way that I was willing to stand in line for that long with 3 small children. Never the less, we did look at the train, take pictures of the train and get some of the free items for the kids.
With the crazy weather we've had this summer, it wasn't too surprising to see snow in September. They had decorated the town with Christmas decor and even had snow machines! It was a beautiful day and the snow melted before it touched the ground.
They also had a blow-up movie theater that sat around 100 people. You were supposed to go through the train before being able to see the preview of the movie. I happened to ask the lady at the entrance if I needed to do that. She said, "You are supposed to, but I can let you in." Sometimes, it does come in handy to have lots of small children! The preview was pretty neat. The movie will be in 3-D. Not sure that we'll see the movie in the theater (we rarely go to the theater for any movie), but it does look pretty neat. We'll probably just wait until we can get it from the library!
