On the eleventh day of Valentine's

I gave to my family: 11 Valentine M&M's - Cupid's Mix!

Seriously, by now, you'd think my kiddos would be candied out....but no! And, of course, only 11 measly M&M's were not going to cut it. While we watched the opening ceremonies from the Olympics (yes, we are a night behind, but do you think we really care?!?) we put away nearly the entire bag of M&M's.

Earlier today, we had our annual Valentine's Party with our friends. We moms have been friends since our single or early newlywed days. It's been fun to walk the road together as we were in the Singles Group at church together, dated our future husbands, were roommates, got married, were at or in each others weddings, began having kiddos around the same time, were in MOPS together and pushed our babes in strollers for several years -- before we "outgrew" the strollers since between the 6 of us we have 19 children!! Now, 3 of the gals co-op together for homeschooling and 3 of us are in public schools. Four of our families attend church together and the other two attend a daughter church of our church. Even though we do attend the same church, we don't always see each other regularly due to sickness, different services or just chasing after our kiddos in several different directions! It's not as easy to get together as frequently as we used to, but we are working hard to maintain our girlfriend relationships along with fostering the relationships among our kiddos.

At the party, the kids made Valentine cards for their Daddy, made bags for the goodies, played games and had some snacks. We had fun chatting together and catching up while the kiddos played together. Before we knew it, a couple hours had passed and it was well past naptime for a few of the younger ones!

Our future musician....Matthew loved that the keyboard was just the right size for him. Thankfully for us, it was not turned on - nor did he figure that out!
