When I was a little girl, every year for Christmas after we'd spend the day at my grandparents in Cleveland, we'd be "surprised" with a trip to see an ice skating show. It is one of my favorite childhood memories. I can't really tell you any of the particular shows I remember seeing, but I remember it being a fun time with something we all enjoyed. That love of watching ice skating is still in me today. I'd come across a deal this week (of course, you'd know there'd be a deal involved!) to get tickets half price. Since there are 6 of us, this could have been a pretty pricey outing! We also pre-warned the kids that we were not going to be buying any souveniers. They had a Buzz toy that lit up and spun around for a measly $20. You do the math x 4 kids -- YIKES!! Instead, we took lots of pictures and made some great memories!

The introduction of the toys.

Everyone's favorite Cowboy and Space Ranger -- Woody and Buzz!

Woody was reminding Buzz how he was confused at Pizza Planet that the LGM (Little Green Men) could take him back in the rocket to fight the Evil Emporer Zurg in the original Toy Story.

The girls enjoying the show.

Woody and his best gal, Jessie along with their sidekick, Bullseye.

Can't you just imagine them being excited?!?

The gang from Woody's Roundup.

At intermission, Elizabeth decided to show us how they were ice skating. Not the best form, but for a 3 year old, it's not too bad!!

As the second half started, we had a visit from Goofy

Donald Duck

Minnie with the toy Jessie

and Mickey with the toy Woody.

The second half was more along the storyline of Toy Story 3. I loved the Barbie outfit. Her skates looked like high heels!! And the leg warmers were great too!!

The toys introduction to SunnySide DayCare and Lotso. Elizabeth was very definite that she did
not like Lotso.

Elizabeth's favorites: Jessie and Bullseye.

Lotso taking the toys to the Caterpillar Room.

Still very engrossed in the show.

Buzz Lightyear - Space Ranger.

The grand finale!

We had a great time! Caroline was so sweet when it was over. She said, "Mama and Daddy - that was so much fun! Thank you for bringing us to see it!" and gave us big hugs. The people sitting in front of us heard her and commented on how sweet it was of her. It's moments like that when we get glimpses of our hard work in parenting these gifts from God paying off when we are encouraged to keep on doing what we are doing.... and having fun while doing it too!!
