The cake was beautifully decorated with "quackers".
Jonathan's teacher, Mrs. Pietras, and aide, Mrs. Noland, went to alot of work to make this such a fun and memorable event for the children. The girls all had veils while the boys had top hats and bow ties. They were able to go to visit other rooms and share various "qu" words. As the children entered, they dropped "quarter" petals.
Mr. Craig, the principal, officiated the union of these two letters. At the end of the humorous ceremony, he pronounced them "Qu". So very clever!! I was able to video tape it and need to figure out how to post it to the blog.
Instead of the age old tradtion of rice, the children all blew bubbles after the ceremony was over. All of the children were so well behaved and had such a good time.

We got to get a family picture with the lovely couple. This event was originally supposed to be a Mother's Day program. At the end, the teachers passed out cookbooks that the children had made. It was fun to see what their favorite recipies were and how each of their mom's made them. Jonathan chose Macaroni and Cheese. Here is his recipe:
Macaroni and Cheese
By Jonathan's Mom
Ingredients: cheese, macaroni, milk, butter, water
Put the noodles in a pan with water.
Cook for 40 minutes on 20 degrees. Let the noodles cool.
Drain off the water.
Put in 30 cups of cheese, 20 cups of milk and 19 measuring cups of butter.
Now stir it in.
Put macaroni and cheese on a plate.
Eat it!
