Our budding artist
Caroline has always enjoyed crafts and has taken an interest in art since being in school. This year, she was selected to have her art displayed at the school wide art show. She was so very excited for this!
Her artwork was done in crayon and watercolors. She titled her picture "Wierd Trees."

The timing of this program was very appropriate as just a day before a referendum had been passed that will allow for the schools to keep the art and music programs in the school. There had been finincial shortfalls that threatened the ending of special programs along with several other cuts that would have affected all of our children's educations. We are so thankful it passed, even though it means higher property taxes -- it is beneficial in so many ways for our family.
Unveiling Caroline's framed art with Mrs. Bley, the art teacher. We are so very proud that Caroline's art was one of the few pieces selected from the entire student body.
With her "Wierd Trees" -- there have been several occassions when Caroline has said that she would like to be an artist when she grows up. Perhaps we need to pursue this a little more!!
Caroline's art was actually hung in the nurses's station and not in the hallway. She was excited to see where it would reside for the upcoming year. We told her that whenever someone wasn't feeling good they would get to lay on the cot and view her beautiful picture! It sure would make me feel better!
