Happy Thanksgiving!

Our day started out with homemade cinnamon rolls. Last year, we'd been brought some by close friends (along with a meal since we'd just had Matthew.) I thought it would be a good tradition since we normally have an abundance of food later in the day. It was an awfully long process. Elizabeth was a helper at one point, but not really helpful... Since my hands were full of dough and cinnamon sugar there were no pictures taken. They did turn out rather yummy. I will tweek the process next year as I spent way too much time in the kitchen and only watched about 30 minutes of the parade with the family.

Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go....holding hands and smiling big!
We headed to David's parents for Linner (not really lunch, not really dinner at 4pm). We had an amazing spread of yummy food. Everything was so delicious! We were so glad that David's grandpa was able to come. He's been in a nursing home for rehab since a fall in September.
Great Papa (who will be 90 years old in just a few weeks!) with all the great grandkids.
We shared 5 things we were thankful for along with reviewing our list from 4 years ago. Many of our lists were the same. We were thankful for the addition of 2 additional children since then and our 2 older kiddos were able to make lists for the first time this year.
Our little pilgrim Elizabeth. Andrew is so sweet with our littlest two kiddos. He loves to hold them and play with them and they love him!
The Cribbs family. Of course, who'd be able to get a picture with everyone looking the right way... mainly speaking about Jonathan here!

David had the misfortune of jumping the gun at a stoplight with a police officer behind us on the way home. As he was going throught the red light, I said, "what are you doing?? the light is still red!" The light was changing as we went under it, but the cops lights were also going by that time. He was a very nice fellow and just wanted to make sure David was not under the influence of alcohol. Probably seeing that we had 4 small children in the van would have been evidence enough that he'd not been drinking, but we were once again thankful for no accident and no ticket!

  1. If you find a dough recipe you like, use a bread machine on the dough setting so that all you have to do is make the actual rolls. Works great for cinnamon rolls. You can also make them the night before and put them in the fridge; just get them out to rise in the morning and then pop them in the oven. That's what my mom always did. Or if you're at our house, Pillsbury made our Thanksgiving morning cinnamon rolls this year! :)
