Jonathan is 5!!!!!

Today was the day that we've been counting down towards for several weeks. Jonathan is officially 5 years old! We, of course, had to take the rocking chair picture. He sure is a handsome young fella!!
After our morning at church, Daddy and Jonathan stopped at a couple of stores while the other 3 kiddos and I came home to start lunch. After a yummy brunch (our Sunday tradition), Jonathan opened his presents. It was so sweet to see the girls so interested as he opened his gifts.
Jonathan chose to sit upon this rocking chair to open many of his gifts...a young squire perched upon his throne. He carefully opened the wrapped gifts, rather than tearing into them.

He got a set of real tools! David had bought these for him shortly after he was born, so we've been looking forward to him being old enough to finally give them to him. The set included a leather tool belt, gloves, rainbow suspenders (my personal favorite!), safety goggles, a hard hat, measuring tapes, chalk lines, pencils, a mini hammer, screwdriver, wrenches and a socket set!

He also got a stump! Not all 5 year olds get this type of gift!! David had got one from his parents when he was 5 and it helped him learn how to hammer. It was the beginning stages of his handyness! I'm so thankful for David being handy and able to fix things around the house. I'm excited to see the boys bonding as David passes on his handy knowledge to our boys.

Jonathan and I had a date this afternoon to Coldstone Creamery for some ice cream. It was fun to have some one-on-one time with him. He is such a sweet boy!

The night came to an end with Daddy reading to the kiddos from Jonathan new favorite book -- Star Wars The Clone Wars.
