Flashback Funny

A current favorite activity for the kids with Daddy is playing Lego Star Wars on the Xbox. Considering that David is a big Star Wars fan and video game fan, it's no surprise that he's passing that along to our kids. Sometimes, Jonathan and Caroline will also play Star Wars where they are pretending to be Luke and Leia. Recently, Caroline (as Leia) wrote a note to Jonathan (as Luke). I'll need to get a picture of it to put on here. I love the way she is sounding out words to spell them. David was concerned as to who "Luke" was... she's not going to be writing notes to boy's yet was his thought.

Last night, David was showing the older 2 kids some videos on YouTube while I finished getting dinner ready. He'd been telling them about the Weird Al song that had the lyrics "bye, bye Mr. Anakin guy". They were looking at various real videos and then comparing the Weird Al version. I don't know that the kids understood parody, but they enjoyed watching the videos.

Then, David showed them some of his favorites from his "gangsta" days...yep, MC Hammer -- "You Can't Touch This". He even has some of the songs on his ipod, so we enjoyed that as our dinner music. After David was singing and showing them the dance moves from the Hammer video, Caroline asked, "Why couldn't he touch it?" We had a good laugh from that!
