The great outdoors

Today as I was finishing cleaning up from breakfast, I heard Caroline say, 'Mama, there's a big scoop digging in front of our house!' Being a bit startled and envisioning our front yard all torn up, I raced to peer out the picture window. As it turned out, the little flags and markings that the nice gas man made last week were due to a leak at our neighbors! Thankfully, they weren't digging in our front year, but across the street.
This was how the kids spent the majority of the morning! I had to peel them away to get them dressed -- and then we went outside to get a closer look. I love seeing them lined up watching out the window. It seems like just yesterday, Caroline was barely tall enough to get a glimpse out the window -- and now look at her!! It would appear that she will be following in my footsteps in the height category.

As it turned out, they did have to turn off our gas as they were looking for the leak with potential that they may need to dig in our yard. When it was time to leave to get Caroline to school, they had found the leak under the neighbor's driveway. So, no digging in our yard, but as of 4pm, we still don't have our gas back on. We're thankful it's a nice day out and we don't need to have heat in our house!
